Drums

I started at the age of 9 by playing side drum in a boy scout band and I was hooked!  I was taught drum kit by my uncle Charlie Partleton who was a well-known local dance band drummer and band leader and got my first kit at age 12. I then took lessons with world-renowned London teacher Max Abrams (Max's ex-pupils include Simon Phillips, Mitch Mitchell, Jack Parnell and many others.) I have been gigging since the age of 14 and have supported Status Quo, Phil Collins, Geno Washington, The Equals, and Chicken Shack amongst others.

I have played with too many  bands to mention but  for 14 years until 2012 I was with CHiPS, one of the most successful band on the Southern Club and function circuit. After that I did a year with the Jon Walsh Blues Band by way of a change..

Being asked to join the Vinyl Beats was an honour and every gig just reinforces how lucky I am.  I love it!

When not playing with The Vinyl Beats I enjoy playing drums with as many other bands and groups as I can in many musical genres from blues through small combo and big band Jazz.

If you need a dep drummer please get in touch.

I have a recording studio for live drums and can offer recorded drums for your musical projects. I do not teach as such but can offer guidance on technique and point you at proper qualified drum teachers.  Please contact me to discuss.
