This page contains some things intended to be useful in promoting your function and ensuring that it goes smoothly.
Here are some points we and you need to be aware of to make everything run smoothly. There is more detail in our standard contract:-
- We need access to the venue for loading in and setting up at least 1.5 hours before we are due to start playing and for 1 hour after we have finished playing or the function finishes, whichever is later
- We need to get 4 cars, preferably simultaneously, to the suitable access point nearest to our playing position for loading in before and loading out after the function. We need an unobstructed route suitable for people carrying heavy and bulky equipment between the loading point and the playing area at these times. We will of course park our vehicles as directed when not loading in or out
- Please tell us before booking us if there are any stairs between the loading point and the playing area, and if there are, how many steps
- We need a playing area 12 feet wide by 8 feet deep as a minimum
- We need at least one 13A socket within 10 feet of the playing area for our exclusive use
- We normally provide all our own amplification and stage lighting but will be pleased to discuss using any house systems prior to the event. It may not always be possible to use house systems
- We normally carry equipment catering for venues sized for up to about 350 people. If your venue is bigger than that we can arrange for additional equipment but we need to know at the time of booking
- If you want to use our p.a. system to make an announcement during the function please just ask, or we can make announcements for you, your choice
- For safety reasons access to the playing area absolutely must be restricted to band members (and those specifically invited and accompanied by band members) from the point of load-in beginning to load-out ending.
- Before booking us please tell us if there is a sound level limiter installed in the venue and if so what level it is set to
- We need to know playing times , break times and the latest allowable finish time before we start playing the first session
- We will initially set our playing volume to what we consider appropriate for the venue, function and audience based on our experience. If it is not right for you please tell us straight away and we will adjust it to suit you as far as is reasonably practicable
- If we are required to be smartly dressed for the performance we need a secure changing room because we don’t hump our gear around wearing our best frocks. If you want the shabby chic look no problem, especially the shabby bit. Please tell us of any dress code requirements at the time of booking
- If anything is unclear, or if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask
If there is a problem with any of the above please discuss it with us prior to making a booking. We can probably work something out given enough notice. We aim to please!
